De Rosa Pista 1981

"The bike was raced by Danny Clark in the 1981 season. Most notably he took it to the 1981 world Keirin Championships, which he won that year. I bought the bike of another track racer who bought it of Clark in 1982. The bike has therefore full history and is (apart from the saddle) exactly the way it was in 81."

And it is currently for sale on LFGSS.com, for a measly grand, in Sterling.

The Biggest Campy Pista Chainring You Ever Saw

Vintage NOS 35 teeth 1 inch pitch Campagnolo Pista chainring, in the pic next to a 52t normal one. Probably meant to be used on a stayer track bike. It's on Ebay at the moment and I know someone who will blow his wad when he sees this...

"Russian Team" Campagnolo Pista Cranks

More super expensive, yet very lovely Campy Pista cranks on Ebay. This time from Poland. The arms appear to be machined to be slimmer than the usual but what does the "Russin Team" actually refer to?

Anyhow, there's plenty of pornographic images HERE.

My Gazelle Champion Mondial

I haven't bothered posting pics of my own bikes for a long time but here we go since my new project is ready:

A mid-1970s Dutch Gazelle Champion Mondial Baanfiets (=dutch for a track bike) built up with more or less random parts mostly left over from a Vivalo I sold a while ago. Lugged Reynolds 531 tubing all the way with extremely tight wheel clearances front and rear. And with a ridiculously steep steering angle, which of course equals fun riding on the city streets. The frame is super beat-up but still kinda beautiful, maybe exactly because of that.

By The Pool

Lovely picture. And it's not a secret that I've been getting to geared road bikes and road cycling recently.

Henry Miller

Well yeah, the great Henry Miller and his bike.
Coaster brake, yes, but very cool nonetheless.

As seen in Helsinki. Not fixed but who cares when it's as cool as this.

Cinelli Cycling Shoes

The Adidas Merckx shoes were great but now there's even more cool vintage cycling shoes on Ebay. I didn't even know Cinelli made cycling shoes but these would be the perfect pair with this helmet.

Adidas E. Merckx Pro

These are some seriously hot retro cycling shoes. NOS with a original box and not at a bad price either. I guess I should be happy that they're not my size...
