DIY Disc Wheel

Okay, very fascinating. Apparently this weights something like 5 kg....

And for the record, this is NOT my project.

EDIT. The evidence seems to have been taken down, maybe for a reason...

*** Pajafest 30.4.-1.5.2011 ***

Second Pajafest at the Satama Social Center for real bike punx and other DIY-folks. Go there and show suppport when you still can because it seems quite likely that the social center will be evicted in June, the building will be demolished soon after to make way for the development of the Kalasatama area.

Stolen in Helsinki!

Stolen last night from the yard of the Satama Social Centre bike workshop, in Kalasatama, Helsinki. So if you see it, hit me up. Probably just a drunken friday night prank so I don't think is going to be too far from its home...

Jopo Pista

Or maybe Jopo Tarck? ChopperOlli is on some real next level shit here...

So what we have here: a classic 1960s Finnish 22" wheel-size Helkama Jopo frame modified heavily to correspond more or less a 54cm size classic track bike. More pics of the project here.

Fauber Bottom Bracket Adapter

I believe this adapter might be very useful for anyone struggling with converting or just generally fixing some older northern European bikes by companies such as Monark, Crescent, DBS, Helkama, Tunturi etc.:

"Fauber Adapter:
Converts Scandinavian 45mm press-fit bottom bracker cups to 1.37 X 24 T.P.I British thread."

Get it from Pyörätohtori here: http://www.pyoratohtori.fi/

And don't worry, he knows about these things, speaks english and will ship worldwide.

For more info on servicing a Fauber BB, look here.

Seen in Jyväskylä.

FYI: Jyväskylä is somewhere up here in Finland. And I don't think it's a polo bike. Pic stolen from Iivo.
