Rossin Ghibli Pursuit - Finally Complete
Olli Erkkilä's greatest project so far is finally ready. I've reported its phases many times along the way and if you remember, even signor Mario Rossin himself sent a message of approval after having been shown some photos of the project. Congratulations!
But always, there's already something new brewing in Olli's workshop...

Project 1 - 2011
Olli's been working hard on something new lately. Remember these? As pointed out earlier, the lugs did look very familiar and much as if they were copied from certain Soviet Union pursuit frames.

Pelizzoli GP Pista 2011
Giovanni Pelizzoli. Who? Mr. Ciöcc, legendary Italian framebuilder is apparently starting to build classic style steel frames again, both road and track models, under his own name. Here are first shots of the new Pelizzoli GP Pista. Keep an eye here and here if you're feelin' deez steeds. I know I will.

Jopo Pista
Or maybe Jopo Tarck? ChopperOlli is on some real next level shit here...
So what we have here: a classic 1960s Finnish 22" wheel-size Helkama Jopo frame modified heavily to correspond more or less a 54cm size classic track bike. More pics of the project here.

Olli's Pripyat
ChopperOlli wrote couple of days ago an epic story of how a pile of rusty iron he dug out under the snow in his folks' backyard became a funky fixed gear bicycle literally over a night in order for him to have a bike to participate on the Yksivaihde.net Wool Ride.

Jordan Hufnagel by Level Magazine
"A film for Level magazine / levelmag.com by Jared Souney as seen previously on levelmag.com.
Craftsmen are a different breed. They are meticulous, working hours on end in solidarity, repeating simple processes over and over in search of perfection. They are a patient people.

Building everything from Track bikes to Road bikes to Cyclocross bikes, Jordans creations are increasing in demand around the globe.

Kinfolk Road Bike
You already probably saw this everywhere but it is nice so I'm posting it too. Apparently it's the first road bike Kusaka-san built under the Kinfolk brand. Clean and classic. But remember also that this is not the first road bike he has built.
See the whole Flickr photoset here.

Visiting Bicycle Studio Level, Tokyo.
Virtual visit to Matsuda-san's famous framebuilding studio in Tokyo.
"Sumio Matsuda has been the president of the Keirin Framebuilder's Association for quite some time. Matsuda joined Matsuda bicycle factory in 1968, began building competition track frames in 1975, and received NJS endorsement in 1980. The frames produced by Matsuda Bicycle initially branded "La Velo," but this was changed to "LEVEL" shortly thereafter. The factory is based in Tokyo, and has recently been relocated to the Arakawa-Ku ward.
... LEVEL framesets have changed very little in appearance over the years. The simple and somewhat demure appearance is matched with the absolute highest caliber of construction and finish. Each LEVEL is designed specifically for the rider and the events and tracks being raced, and as such can not be limited to a single tubeset. The current base price for a frame and fork is 136,500 JPY (headset and bottom bracket not included)."

Rossin Ghibli Custom Pursuit
Olli's custom Rossin Ghibli Pursuit track frame is now ready. Loving the huge 'R' as the rear bridge between the seatstays. I'd think even Mario Rossin himself would approve!

Rossin Ghibli Reborn
Tuukka's trusty old Rossin Ghibli road frame finally died sometime ago when the seat tube broke for the second time. The frame was handed over to ChopperOlli, some time passed and this is what it looks like now, in the last pic below. Looking forward to seeing how it ends up finally.
And T_M, this is all dedicated to you, man.

SJT Funnybike // "Because I can..."
Last week Santtu's new framebuilding project was just a project, and now it's ready. Whoa!
Apparently the motivation/agenda for building the frame was the classic '...because I can.'

New SJT Project

Santtu revealed his new winter bike project last week. He's already produced nice chainrings, hubs and other smaller custom parts such as axles etc. and fixed broken frames. Anyhow the frame project is def a big step up to the next level. Looking forward to seeing how this one will turn out.
