Dartmoor PUNCHER 700cmx

You probably already saw this somewhere else if you follow any other blogs but I decided to post it too because I dig this much more that many other freestyle/tricks frames out there at the moment.

Basically Puncher is a new soon-to-be released frameset by the Polish MTB/DJ/BMX company Dartmoor. Silesia Fixed "leaked" the first photo above and there should be more info at the Eurobike in September.

Anyhow, Puncher looks pretty cool to my eyes due to its clean and simple lines and if you check out info on their other current frames, things like "multiple butted, seamless Japanese Cr-Mo 4130 tubes", "one-piece hydroformed chainstay tubes for better stiffness and lower weight and perfect shape" and "internal gusset under head tube", which I would image will be features also found in the Puncher frameset, sound all pretty promising. That fact that it's made in the EU is also cool and help keeping the price bit lower for us here on the Old Continent.

Straight Out Of The Box: Airwalk Fixed BMX

Airwalk Fixed BMX frameset, came in only three days direct from China. Not mine but I'm quite interested in trying it out, though.

UPDATE!

See the comments section for Konkeli's points about his new whip. Added the pic below too.

Spot The Difference

Dedicated tricktrack frames, what's the difference between these?

Bunch of randomly picked photos of Airwalk Fixed Gear BMX, Brick Lane Bikes BLT, MKS Bruiser and Charge Scissor in random order. Are there in fact any real differences? Yeah, sure there are, different tubing, the whole debate on the AFG BMX being blatant copy of Bruiser etc. but just looking at these I'm starting to wonder...

So, the Charge Scissor then...

It seems that the eagerly waited Charge Scissor is finally -almost- out. You surely know all about it already if you follow any blogs or forums but now the question is where to get it, and for the best price? Interested?

The fact is that for anyone here in Europe, the Scissor is currently hands down the best choice for a dedicated trick/700cmx frameset. First the geometry looks pretty nice. Then, ordering Volume Cutter, the Leader trick frame or any other similar frame from the States is just too expensive with the shipping, tax and other hassle. You just don't want to pay too much for a frame you're gonna be bashing around, right? Finally, at least for me, the fact that Scissor is made from very nice Tange Prestige tubing puts a cherry on top of the deal.

So where to get it for a good price? I'd say look HERE. And the fork is here.

Ok, they don't actually have it on stock yet and the sizing info on site is obviously somehow messed up but the price is not bad at all.

GOrilla Kilroy

KILROY from Gorilla Bicycles on Vimeo.

"After slamming and breaking our prototypes in public and in front of cameras, we finally started production of the Kilroy frame. The tests that Wonka ran lead to the conclusion that we had to manufacture a tube set just for this frame, with particular reinforced parts to absorb and handle the stress of the jumps. Together with Columbus we decided to change the alloy in order to avoid very thick and heavy tubes and gain in strength nevertheless. We are proud to present the first freestyle frame in Niobium steel. The Columbus Niobium steel is a special micro alloyed steel with Manganese, Chrome, Nickel, Molybdenum and Niobium that is designed to provide superior mechanical properties

We went to Italy for the launch of the production and invited Wonka to join us and get involved into the process of creation. Thanks to Renaud Skyronka for filming this monumental happening."

Volume Thrasher

First pic of the new Thrasher, which is of course a dedicated trick/freestyle frame from Volume Bikes. But will the Thrasher replace the Cutter or what, I've no idea.

GOrilla 'Lama' Trick Frame

GOrilla 'Lama' freestyle frame, now for sale @ Chari & Co., NYC. The frames were built by Giovanni Pelizzoli himself, known as the man behind CIÖCC. Lugged steel with nice details such as the chromed fork tips and dropouts, and only 30 were made.

And the price? 1,550 USD.

Volume Cutter V.3

Volume Bikes Cutter V.3 is out and now the frame is actually starting to look fairly nice.

Up until now I haven't been a big fan of any of the dedicated trick / 700cmx frames out there and I can honestly say that when I saw the first pics of the first version Cutter frame I thought it looked like piece of shit. A BMX company half-heartedly hopping on the bandwagon etc. But by continuously working on improving their design I guess Volume Bikes has now proved me wrong.

Anyhow, if I was to get a 700cmx frame myself I'd probably get the Riding In Circles trick frame or the BMW Gangsta Track, although both of those cost considerably more than the Cutter.
