SJT Recycled Fixed 29er MTB
Santtu's latest project is damn awesome. DIY fixed 29er MTB, with frame built mostly from parts scavenged from several old dead frames. The 'hanging' dropout design is pretty neat in itself and the tiny frame size makes the bike look almost like a 36er. The rear fixed hub and the beefy lockring are also designed and machined by the man himself. Gotta respect the mad metal working skills in effect here!

Cars on Helsinki Velorome ...

Now, information on this is very limited at the time of writing but:
Jarkko discovered today that in the brand new issue of Tuulilasi magazine, 'Finland's Only Car Magazine' as their slogan goes, there's some kind of car test. And some of the photos of the feature have been shot on the Käpylä Velodrome here in Helsinki.
With the cars driving ON the velodrome.
I haven't seen the issue or any more photos than the one above and don't know more about this but the Helsinki velodrome is a publicly-owned municipal sports facility and the Tuulilasi magazine needed to ask someone at the City for a permission to conduct this stupidity. And someone somewhere in the City administration has actually granted them the permission. And probably for free. One would think that the City is supposed to maintain, not destroy, the velodrome with the tax money, right?
Another thing is that to my knowledge the Käpylä velodrome has the status of an official historical preserved monument (or something like) that due to being of certain architectural value. As a cycling velodrome, not as a car racing track.
Now let's see where this goes next when the word spreads because I certainly hope that we're not the only people seeing the fucked-upness of all this.

Just Some Jewellery

Here's some nice pieces of bike-themed jewellery made by Ms. Pacstar. I don't know if these will be for sale but I see lot of potential here. Very cool.

Rossin Ghibli Custom Pursuit // The Next Level
Olli's new custom whip is progressing, more pics here. However, while I fully dig this, I must say that the project took quite an unexpected turn with these current build photos...

SJT Funnybike // "Because I can..."
Last week Santtu's new framebuilding project was just a project, and now it's ready. Whoa!
Apparently the motivation/agenda for building the frame was the classic '...because I can.'

New SJT Project

Santtu revealed his new winter bike project last week. He's already produced nice chainrings, hubs and other smaller custom parts such as axles etc. and fixed broken frames. Anyhow the frame project is def a big step up to the next level. Looking forward to seeing how this one will turn out.

Cinelli Vigorelli CX. Kinda.
It's already getting dark and cold up here in the north, now only the snow is missing anymore. Mr. Konkeli is prepared - with some 700x32mm CX tires (I dunno which ones exactly, though). But yes, they do fit. So now you know.
